Castelvecchio farm is in San Pancrazio, in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa, 20 km south of Florence in the area of Chianti Colli Fiorentini. The winery estate was founded more than half a century ago, in 1962, by Renzo Rocchi.
Today the Rocchi family is producing wine and olive oil.
The vineyards, mainly Sangiovese grapes but too Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Canaiolo Nero, Trebbiano, Merlot, and Malvasia, are at an height of 250 to 350 meters.
The farm covers 73 hectares: 30 of vineyards, 15 olive groves ground.
Up to 1995, in a phase of firm renovation, 18 hectares of vineyard have been replanted.
The wineries are underground below the villa and are equipped with stainless steel tanks for winemaking besides an ideal environment for ageing in wood and in bottle.
Chianti Colli Fiorentini Il Castelvecchio
Tasting notes: intense ruby red; intense fruity; mildly dry but soft and persistent, velvety.
Grape varieties: Sangiovese 90%, Merlot 10%.
Food pairings: any dish, mostly red meat and savory food.
Tasting notes: ruby red; intense perfum with hints of cherry and bloom, spicy, pepper, vanille, red rose, tobacco and cocoa. Harmonic full persistent flavor.

Food pairings: red roasted meat and game, aged cheese.
Chianti Vigna La Quercia
Tasting notes: intense ruby red, burgundy red thanks to ageing. Fragrant scent of berry and sweet spices. Fruity flavor with hints of spices, sapid, full, rounded, elegant structure and balanced tannins.
Grape varieties: Sangiovese 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%.
Food pairings: grilled or roasted red meat and tasty food.

The Rocchi family welcomes tourists from every parts in the world in a country house close to the XV century villa. Many apartments surrounded by nature are devoted to people that look for relax. The farmhouse – built in Tuscan architecture style – and the swimming pool are suitable for couples and families with kids. Quite remarkable features are beam and vaulted arches.
