Tuscany is one of the greenest regions of Italy: there is a great biodiversity of vegetation and animals of all sizes. As well as a perfect microclimate, a right hilly altitude, perfect excursion of the temperature during the day in the Summer seasons, then hot in the Summer and cold in the Winter. All that means that in Tuscany there is perfect and balanced eco system.

All this makes the perfect place for the magnificent Tuscan wines and extra virgin olive oil made here.

The terroir, the soil is so important that Tuscany is divided into DOCG wine areas, or subzones, what does it mean? That all the wineries that want to produce Chianti wine or Brunello wine have to be inside their specific wine regions, Chianti or Montalcino. In like manner San Gimignano for the Vernaccia wine, Montepulciano for the Nobile di Montepulciano.

Indeed, specific wine areas have special features that belong specifically to that wine region. When you drink a wine that comes from one of those areas you find that they have their own identity, personality, that is always recognizable.

The terroir means precisely this, that a wine can be recognized and identified thanks to the area where it was produced.

Meet your guide and start your Tuscany wine tour from Florence, heading south into the scenic Chianti wine region. Enjoy a relaxing drive through cypress-lined roads and vine-covered hills.

3:00 PM – Visit to the First Winery
Arrive at a traditional family-run winery. Learn about their winemaking philosophy and explore the cellar. Take part in a guided wine tasting Tuscany experience, sampling 3–4 signature wines, including Chianti and White wines.

4:30 PM – Scenic Drive to the Second Winery
Continue your journey deeper into the Chianti countryside, soaking in panoramic views of the vineyards and medieval villages along the way.

4:45 PM – Sunset Wine Tasting & Aperitivo on the Terrace
Reach the second winery just in time for golden hour. Settle on a panoramic terrace overlooking the vines, where you’ll enjoy a premium Florence wine tasting experience paired with a variety of Tuscan appetizers: local cheeses, cured meats, bruschetta, and seasonal delights.

I highly recommend! The small group tours allow you to experience wineries and vineyards big and small. Lunch was included and they accommodated gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian people in the group. Great trip. Slow enough paced not to feel rushed but still a full day. Wineries were wonderful - both the owners and the experience. Only negative and it’s not terrible is that with small, organic wineries, their production volume isn’t that much so you can’t find these wines in the US. Buy and ship, or you’ll miss them

This is a must do tour when you are in Italy, and we loved having Filippo as our guide for the day. Meeting point instructions were very clear, and we received so much valuable insight into Italy, Florence, and wine from Filippo between our three stops. The three wineries we visited were amazing! We had the opportunity to meet each owner and receive a tour prior to sitting down to a wine tasting. The farm-to-table meal we had at La Pia was probably our favorite meal of the trip. Our wine tour with Angela was an absolute DREAM!! We spent 2 weeks traveling Italy, and my husband and I both agree this was our favorite day of our entire trip. What an amazing experience this was! We booked the Chianti tour that visited three local, family-run wineries and had the best time. I have been on several large group tours, but after taking this one, I’ll never book anything but a small group tour! The experience was so intimate and we learned all about each winery from those who run them - each so passionate about their products. The tour was fun, informative and delicious (of course!). Our guide, Carlo, was phenomenal - he was a very interesting guy who made the experience truly incredible. We will definitely be booking again the next time we’re in Florence! Carlo mentioned that you can relay which wineries you visited, so if you return, they can coordinate an alternative group so you can continue to book with Angie and have different experiences each time! Francesca our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Each winery we went to was great. All small family run wineries really embraced us and made us feel at home. The wine was delicious as was the food. If we’re ever in Florence again, we will absolutely take this tour again and will definitely recommend it to all our family and friends.

Fabulous day out. Great tour guide (Carlo). Very professional service. The three wineries we visited, Castelvecchio, Montalbino and Poggio Rozzi, were excellent and the hosts very helpful and willing to share their knowledge. Lunch at Montalbino winery was delicious and the paired wine were also very good, in particular their Trebbiano. I would definitely recommend this tour.

What a perfect day spent in the Tuscan countryside touring 3 distinctive wineries! This tour was a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more intimate wine experience that the large-scale tour bus companies can offer. Our guide, Filippo, was engaging, knowledgable, and passionate about Tuscan wine-making. We were able to interact directly with the wine-makers at all properties and tasted wonderful wines at all 3 wineries we visited. The views were spectacular and the food pairings delicious as well!

We had the best time during our wine tour with Carlo. It was not only a great way to see the beautiful Tuscan country side, but the 3 boutique wineries made us feel right at home. One of them even cooked us a homemade lunch - which was delicious. Carlo was great to have with us for the day and was just as knowledgable as some of the on-site staff at the wineries. We learned so much and left with a newfound respect for Chianti Classico and Extra Virgin Italian Olive Oil. You even have opportunities to purchase wine and oil from the wineries and ship back to the states. We would highly recommend Angela’s Wine Tours. Was truly one of the biggest highlights of our trip.

Great wines, great education about the history of wine in the region. We had only four in our van instead of the maximum 8 so we were pretty efficient at each winery.

This was the BEST tour. We visited three countries over two weeks and everyone said this tour was their favorite day. Fillipo was our guide and very knowledgeable and kind. We picked this tour from Florence as it seemed to be one of the few that offers small groups (max 8 people) in comparison to some of the companies that would take groups of up to 25-50 people and it was definitely a great decision!
Visiting small 3 family run wineries in Chianti with our very knowledgeable guide, Carlo who was like an old friend on the day.
The wine and food we had on the day was also amazing, only shame was that I couldn’t ship it back to Australia!
If you are looking for a good winery tour from Florence I highly suggest this one :)

Cannot recommend this company enough! Did the Chianti 3 wineries tour with them and it was spectacular! Carlo was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and so much fun!

They keep the group size small (HUGE plus in Florence) and the vineyards they pick are all small, family owned vineyards with some exquisite wines (see photos of the vineyards themselves). They even accommodate vegetarian and vegan diet options without compromising on any taste! Would 100% come back to do more wine tours with them!

AMAZING! My husband and I, along with two of our friends recently visited Italy and fell in love with the country! During our stay in Florence we booked a trip with Angela to explore Tuscany. The wineries she hand selected for our group were phenomenal - all were small production wineries that took the time to teach us about their wine production process, the correct way to smell/taste wine, and much more. This was the highlight of our trip to Italy! We went in the off-season (end of November) and it was still beautiful and perfect. Our highly qualified guide, Filippo, was the best! So knowledgeable of the wines, wineries, and history of the region due to being a local to a nearby village in this Chianti region (also gave plenty of other suggestions in Florence). We already rethink our wine shopping now that we have the knowledge of what to look for to have a wonderful and headache free wine (all the wineries were organic so less sulfites, yay!). Each of the wineries offers cheese with bread and unbelievably fresh olive oil (November is the time for fresh press harvest) and the 2nd winery (Lombricaia di Montalbino) was where we had a delicious lunch with the most bubbly and passionate guide for the winery, Chiara. It was an authentic tuscan meal with a beautiful view of the countryside in a very charming restaurant that felt like we were having a family dinner. The day flew by and it was the best part of our trip due to it feeling so intimate and relaxed. Highly recommend this, well worth the price!

What an amazing tour with Claudia! Passionate, knowledgeable, and so much fun learning about Chianti, DOCG, DOC, IGT, and super Tuscany wines. We did a private tour on Sunday. Claudia was right on time at the meeting point, and really went above and beyond by sharing recipes with us, helping us get transportation for all the wines we purchased, and helping get us a taxi the next day. Not only were the wineries we visited all unique but Andrea spent time to explain how taste wine and what to look for in color, taste, etc. All three wineries served Chianti but each one had unique other offerings. We received private tastings and a tour of all the cellars. The lunch provided was an authentic taste of Italy at a wonderful young winery. I went on a wine tasting tour with Angie a few years ago and because of the great experience I booked again for May 2013. Angie’s tour was already fully booked so we were in Olivia’s group, another awesome day! The whole region is beautiful and there are plenty of tour operators but for me Angie’s personal service and small groups make her the go-to company for your Tuscan wine tasting tour. A bonus with the smaller groups is that Angie takes you to small and medium sized wineries, not the giant mass production places, so you really get face to face time with the owner/winemakers.
